As both a traveller and a member of NADRA (North American Deck and Railing Association), I have the opportunity to see a lot of beautiful, well-made outdoor spaces. And many of these are built without guidelines on how the builder will put it together. I must admit that that’s true talent.
I’ve worked side by side with some of the best deck builders early on. And instead of forgetting what I’d learned along the way, I started creating and collecting the pieces together. Today, it’s a manual that I and my employees work from when building (award-winning) decks. This deck construction manual (available on our Training page), is 21 pages long, filled with guidelines and tips. I think it’s pretty thorough, but I’m always open to new thoughts and perspectives on making it better.
