Below is some reference on how many boards you’ll need per square footage. If still unsure, feel free to call us-

To figure the square footage of your deck take the width times the length of your deck. Example: 12′ x 20′ = 240 square foot

We calculated the square footage of a each board below for you:
2″ X 6″ X 8′ = 3.66 square foot     2″ X 6″ X 10′ = 4.58 square foot     2″ x 6′ x 12′ = 5.5 square foot
2″ x 6″ x 14′ = 6.42 square foot     2″ x 6″ x 16′ = 7.33 square foot     2″ x 6″ x 18′ = 8.25 square foot
2″ x 6″ x 20′ = 9.166 square foot

So take the total square footage of your deck and divide it by the square footage of the length of the board you desire and this will give you the # of boards you need for your deck. Confused? No worries, just call us as we figure needed project materials every day!

Note that our vertical grain wood (Best – “Ultimate”) is priced similarly to what you’ll find for a lower grade of wood. We guarantee that we will not be undersold on vertical grain. Call for pricing!
