I never knew how much math would play into building decks when I first started. Well, fyi, math and algebra are big pieces to success for deck builders and contractors. If you’re not great at math and numbers, no worries. Once you get the initial hang of it (for design as well as running the business), it’s fine. When we first started building decks, we had to break things down into square footage (for estimating, budgeting, etc). That’s still important today as you make sure you’re actually making money at the end of a project 🙂
